GUIDELINES
1. The E-Library Section is intended solely for online research, using the university provided workstations or through portable devices brought in by students. Such as: A. Access to WebOPAC (web-based online public access to the university’s Library Management System) B. Educational research and access to scientific publications C. Browsing digitized manuscripts and other library collections D. Video streaming facility for distance learning E. Production of multimedia instructional materials F. A venue for special services like access to government websites and other related online service providers. The following activities are not allowed inside the E-Library: A. Downloading of apps, videos and music and connecting to video and audio streaming websites for individual entertainment purpose. B. Playing games both offline and online C. Viewing inappropriate sites (porn, gambling, extreme violence, etc.) D. Writing (pen and paper) reports, assignments, projects and the likes that do not require internet connection. 2. All individual connections are limited to two (2) hours only. This is to accommodate more students to utilize the facility. In addition, connections are configured to optimize students’ access to specific research needs. The following WIFI Hotspots are configured as follows: e-library 1 – For internet access No access to video streaming sites e-library 2 – For e-journal access No access to social media and Video Streaming Websites e-library _WiFi – For public WiFi access All access 3. Please log-in and log-out with the duly assigned personnel for security and monitoring purposes. 4. The University Librarian and/or his/her designated staff have the right to request a student to leave the premises if he or she does not conform to these guidelines. 5. In case of emergency and other technical difficulties please notify the personnel on duty. HOW TO AVAIL OF E-LIBRARY SERVICES? A. FOR ONLINE RESEARCH 1. Please present your valid ID to the personnel on duty. 2. You will be assigned a particular station allocated 2 hours for your internet access. 3. Proceed to your desired section. B. INTERNET ACCESS/E-JOURNALS SECTION 1. You will be notified upon expiry of your allocated time and logged out. This is to accommodate other students who also want to avail of e-library services. 2. Your ID will be given back to you upon logging out on the Internet Access Monitoring Form. 3. In case you want to log out before your time expires just sign the monitoring form and claim your ID. C. WIFI ACCESS 1. Proceed to the WiFi access area. Limited seats are available. 2. Please enter only if there are available seats. Not loitering around. 3. Connect using your portable device i.e. cellphones, tablet PC’s laptops and other gadgets to: e-Library_WiFi 4. All your connections are allocated 2 hours. Your device will automatically disconnect after the allocated time. This is to accommodate other students who also want to use the Library’s WiFi Facility.
